Study Excursions Programme 2022

Full day Study Excursions by coach

21 May

Inverewe Gardens

Yes, we've been to Inverewe before, but it's a long journey if you have to drive, so come and enjoy with Spa Coaches providing the transport. We'll try to negotiate on the entry price if we can, but Inverewe is always a glorious place to visit.

23 July

Ardersier circular stroll.

A circular stroll of approximately one and a half hours around the historic village of Ardersier followed by refreshments provided in the old Coaching Inn, for those who wish, at the end of the walk.

Ardersier is documented as far back as 1227 and the Knights Templar. The peninsula was part of the diocese of Ross and Fortrose Abbey, protecting the busiest crossing of the inner Moray Firth during the 17th century. Prior to the Jacobite Rebellions and the building of military roads in the 18th century the main travel routes such as the old Via Regia were coastal. The building of Fort George and the Clearances impacted on the area as did the two World Wars.

17 September

Grampian Transport Museum at Alford

This takes us to the Grampian Transport Museum at Alford. The journey over is most interesting and we'll come back by a slightly different route with wonderful distant views on both routes. There is much of interest for an Inverness group in this Museum.

Please send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Mrs Eileen MacAskill, one envelope for each excursion, marked with the name of the excursion in question. Details of cost, timings etc will be sent out using these envelopes nearer the time of each excursion. At that point, you decide whether you want to come or not and you send payment then.
