Black Grouse - the missing answer

Added on 20 February 2013

At the end of his presentation on Black Grouse, the speaker (Brad Chappell) was stumped by one question to which he did not have an answer, but undertook to find the answer and report back.  The following response has been received from Brad:

"I was asked a question that I was unable to answer. What is the global distribution and are the Black grouse in decline in other places?
The birds are to be found in northern Europe and into northern Russia, and whilst they are in some decline in the marginal areas around the fringes of their range, they are generally doing okay in Scandinavia and Russia.
If you could possibly arrange to have the answer passed to the group it would be much appreciated."
