Groam House lecture

'Our 2016 Groam House lecture series continues on Thursday 25th August when Scottish artist Bryan Angus gives a talk entitled ?Carving the Northern Light?.
As usual the talk will take place at the Seaforth Lodge, Station Square, Fortrose at 7.30 p.m. and there will be tea and coffee afterwards.
This talk is to compliment our summer art exhibition at Rosehaugh which features the work of George Bain (1881-1968), whose archive the museum cares for. The Bain Collection has been recognised by Museums Galleries Scotland as being of National Significance. Bain was an early pioneer in the use of linoleum for print making. Our speaker, Bryan Angus, is based in Banff and specialises in linocut printing himself. In his talk he will touch on history and techniques of linocut printing and talk about his own work. I hope he will also be able to make some comments about Bain’s lino based work, although he will only have seen that first hand on the afternoon before the talk.
Bryan’s work is striking and very attractive. I anticipate he will give us a very interesting evening.'
